We think the coolant got into the pan when we pressure tested the coolant system before we removed head.  There was very little coolant in the pan.

There was a chocolate milkshake in the valve cover tho, so coolant and oil mixxed there somehow.  

When we pressurized the coolant system there were no external leaks, so the rad, hoses, heater core, etc, etc are sealed.

That's why I'm suspecting some sort of small seal off the oil filter flange or something as the cause of this.  I'm also checking the block for warpage etc...
