Yes,  There's a valve at the compressor and another behind the fire wall
that's what my AC guy used to refill my system with, wait for it, Freeze 12.

I assume that you have a R12 system.  Did the mechanic have a fitting
that would connect to the schrader valve?  What was the effect of
jumping the pressure switch?  Was the car running or stopped when
recharging the system?  Isn't there also a port at the compressor? Was
this an Audi dealer or an A/C specialty shop?
