it's just butyl caulk seal, which you can get at an auto parts store.
somebody posted about the audi part having a particular cross-sectional
profile that made it more suitable for this application, but i have
no experience with using it in an audi application.
i've used butyl caulk to seal taillights and windows on other cars and
never had any issues with shape of the caulk. the caulk is soft and
easily conforms to the surface, so i don't think its initial shape is
an issue.
