[s-cars] Check Engine Light / No Start

The 2113 code is CPS failure. All the symptoms are the same as my failure
one year ago. I actually bought a used Bosch distributor (for a 88
Volvo)from a Euro car wrecker for $40 which had the same hall sender device
on it. Ripped that apart then installed on the bracket. The removal of the
cam sprocket is easy if you have peviously done the monster air intake
modification cos the OE air intake snorkel is no longer there. Just have to
remove timing belt cover, slacken timing belt then remove sprocket - the
socket to remove cam fits right in where the intake used to be - no need to
remove the top support.

This is what you need...

The hall sender is the little black part in bottom left corner.

Yea, I was afraid of that. The sad thing is that I
just had the timing belt thing done that got into lots
of $. Seems like I replaced everything except the
CPS! I watched you guys put the GB together, I
thought about it and decided not to worry about it.
Hindsight is 20/20.

Anyone have a lead on a CPS? I saw $250 or so at SJM
site, didn't look further.

How do I know its not one of the other 2 sensors,
speed & timing? They look easier to replace (of
course). Or are my symptoms pretty typical for CPS
failure?

Thanks again,

Greg
