Brian,

I located replacement EPDM seals and had both sides
rebuilt by my mechanic but the LHS caliper still would
not release properly. Close inspection revealed that
the 10mm shoulder-bolt that locks the cam in place was
stopping the cam before it released the calipers.

I don't know whether the guy who serviced the caliper
did it wrong or not (maybe the corrosion damage was
just too bad) but I didn't want to redo the job so I
just removed the bolt. The cam stays in place just
fine and the calipers release correctly.
