I wasn't making any judgment on whether the cover is needed or not.
There actually should have been a "or may not" in my statement but, my
fingers are slower than my mind, which is to say pretty slow, so it got
lost in translation.  I was only addressing the likelihood of water
getting in there, which is zip.
