Elijah,
Like Elvis, I'm just catching up your thread so I may repeat other
suggestions:
- Temperature Flap: Check if the new one is moving, either visually or
through the HVAC (Channel 8, 9 or 10, I don't remember exactly). Visual
inspection is preferable as the link may be disconnected.
- Temperature sensor: Check the channel 51 on the HVAC head unit to make
sure the engine/hvac temperature sensor gives approximatively the same
reading as the temp gauge on the dash. If the temp sensor is always giving a
low reading, the temp flap will never be activated. This sensor is on a hose
between the engine and firewall (blue plug).
- Air trap: Make sur there is no air in the system. There is a small vent on
one of the hoses on the driver side of the HVAC box, between the firewall
and the windshield.Open the vent when the engine is warm and make sure
coolant is flowing out of the vent.
- Coolant electric valve: There is a valve on one of the hose going through
the firewall. I _think_ the valve is between the engine and the firewall,
below the engine/hvac temp sensor but not sure. Check if it works.
- Heater core plugged: Last check because it's quite a mess. Disconnect the
two hoses going through the firewall (the best place to disconnect them is
between the engine and the firewall) and plug a garden hose to one of them
to check if the water is flowing freely through the heater and hoses. Open
the water slowly as the heater core may not resist high pressure if it's not
in good shape.
If you don't want to see all the coolant flowing on the floor when you
disconnect the hoses, remove a gallon of coolant through the purge plug on
the lower passanger side of the radiator.
As you get a little heat instead of no heat at all, I would suspect a
problem of coolant flow, either the valve a plugged heater core/hose.
That's about it for now.
Vincent.

Ok, this is getting old and the pregnant wife is getting a little tired of
heating the car with the heated seats. I replaced the heater flap motor and
also the vacuum actuated valve and I still have no heat coming through the
any of the vents. If I put the fan on the lowest setting the air comes out
warm but if I raise it at all it turns to cold. What else could cause this?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Elijah
