Matt,
First step is to remove the transmission, so you might as well replace
the clutch and upgrade ot a 6-speed while you are in there! :-)
OK OK, It's a job that is almost too easy.
Tools needed:
8mm socket (I hope I recall thei correctly)
socket wrench
small screwdriver
If I recall correctly there are 6 nuts that need to be removed, I
loosened them all (trying to be safe) and then removed all the nuts.
I had to "pry" a little bit on two sides to get the cap to free, and
then pop it was off. simply remove the old spring, install the new
spring and reassemble. I pressed the cap firmly in place and started
2 nuts opposite of each other, tightened them partly down and then
installed the remaining 4 and finally tightened all 6 moving across
from each nut to the opposite night in a triangular fashion like you
would with lug nuts.
I did this job while wearing a suite and completed it in ~5 minutes.
