that would be me.

still have the front end clunk on mine, despite:
  - replacing all bushings
  - tightening and retightening struts
  - messing about entirely too much with 2B camber plates
  - checking to see that rack mount is not broken

when we refreshed the suspension we did not replace any balljoints.
conversely, when I did my 4KQ I replaced bushings _and_ balljoints. no
clunks whatsoever in that car.

I'll cast my vote for balljoints...
