well, compared to the valvoline synthetic that i've been using in street
cars, anyway. $12/L is substantially cheaper than i remember paying for
the ATE fluid, but then again, it's not like i've been buying ATE recently.

that's great for them, then. i've never had any problems with motul 600,
and when i compare the cost of motul 600 to the cost of castrol SRF ($75/L),
i see no reason to switch. i've never had boiling problems with fresh
motul 600, and i've used the brakes hard enough to get fade from hawk blue
race pads (which are significantly more aggressive than hawk black).
the chemistry of SRF is well known, as is the composition of the nitrile
rubber commonly used in automotive applications. you may or may not have
problems, but motul 600 is DOT 4 rated, and in order to achieve that DOT
rating, it has to be verified in the lab as being compatible with the
seals typically used in automotive brake systems.

IMHO, motul 600 is the best thing to come out of france. it's a moderately
priced drop-in that doesn't boil in a heavy production car at laguna seca.
if it weren't for that stuff, i'd have to use significantly more expensive
brake fluids, some requiring an alcohol flush first. and i have tried
many different brake fluids over the years.

i don't think it makes sense to pay $75/L and risk the seal issues when
motul 600 is far cheaper and works so well. try the motul 600 - you won't
regret it.
