[s-cars] Midyear Voltage Regulator Cutover on a Canadian 94 S4

The S6 120A alternator has a black cover over the back and is stamped
in large letters 120
on the side of the plastic cover. It makes it more difficult to
access the regulator but replacing
it is simplified since the brushes and slip rings are exposed with
the cover removed. If more
repair is necessary, removal of the alternator is an extensive
procedure.
The 120A regulator is an expensive item as well, around $45 online.
You can probably use the appearance of the alternator as a guide to
it's rated output and the
correct repair parts, but I get the idea that if you know the brushes
are "well worn" you must
have already removed the regulator? In that case, I would just go to
the nearest flaps with the
old regulator and buy a matching replacement.
