In all seriousness, though, the whole dyno factor is well and good, but I
feel that if you're going to open up a discussion, a dyno chart is helpful,
so that we call can see what kind of dyno, have an idea what a stock car
would do on there, if there is any sort of correction, etc.
For what it's worth, I'm not as optimistic as you are. After seeing dozens
upon dozens of dyno charts manipulated by altering load weight, curb weight,
wind resistance settings, and countless other factors, I believe that a dyno
is strictly a tool to achieve an end goal: tuning a car. If it comes close
to actual horsepower and torque, fine, that's a plus. Most of the time
though, you should just be looking that the thing isn't on the brink of
destruction or riding the knock sensors by looking at the curve and not just
the number at the bottom of the sheet.
