Dave, I'm currently trying to track down my old CPS in my pile of junk,
if I can find it I will be testing out the elusive theory... I've been
in contact with "Chen Yeng" and according to them the 2AV54 is not a
direct replacement for the HKZ101, but that doesn't mean it can't be
substituted. From what I can determine there is a physical dimension
difference between the 2AV54 and the original HKZ101, although they both
have an equal positioning of the mounting holes (i.e. 22.5mm apart) the
opening of the vane is 2mm farther out with respect to the mounting
holes. That being said, when I replaced my CPS a few years ago there was
enough play to position the vane in relation to the mounting holes that
2mm will make no difference at all... So far from what I can tell both
have the same electrical characteristics, thus it should be a suitable
substitute.
/Dumbest, but usually only in my hushpuppies!

Subject: [s-cars] OEM Cam Position Sensor "G40" Questions
Now that I have had time to "lighten up" (did I get that right this time
Paulie?) and have walked off my frustrations in my "Hushpuppies" (I
always thought that they were something deepfried that you ate in New
Orleans, but hey, my socks smell good now), did anyone happen to have
an answer to my question a few posts up at:
http://www.audifans.com/pipermail/s-car-list/2006-March/049709.html
Or another alternative, who has actual experience with the "Chen Yeng"
alternative? Or the V6 Passat CPS conversion?
Dumber and Dumberer (whoever you are), you are welcome to answer if you
have any real information to contribute to this.
