I've lost count of how many cars I've seen stuffed in the tire wall at the bottom of the downhill because they start down a little too wide and drift off the track by the time they get to the bottom. Or worse yet, they drop the two outside wheels into the dirt and then try to bring it back on the track two quickly and under too much power. Both front wheels get traction (fwd), outside rear still on the dirt, snap roll ensues. I remember watching a VW Rabbit roll 9 times in that scenario, finally landing on its roof in the middle of the straight. I don't think the car was finished being towed back to the paddock yet and we were already buying the suspension off it (only thing that was salvageable).
I always liked the uphill much better as the compression of the suspension made the car much more stable. The worst mistake you can make in the uphill is to apex early and lift.
