Fellows:
Look a little harder. I posted a note that my sunroof problem was caused
by the switch wearing out. Specifically one of the wipers in the potentiameter
wore thru. Replaced it and have had no problems. My car is a 95.5 with 120K miles.
Mark near Chicago or MTG

Thanks guys, you know when you talk about a problem it will happen to
others. Guess what opened on my way to the doctors this morning? Yep, my
sunroof.
I believe I read on Audiworld awhile back that random openings are a sign
that the battery is going? Seems to be if it opens and stays open. ( at
least checking audiworld archives)
Found this on cleaning the switch

and

s-car link has a tip on how to remove the panel
Hope that helps everybody.
