Silver Spring, MD has a tech that a few listers use and swear by. I have no
personal experience with Suni at Road and Track Motorsports
http://www.roadandtrackmotorsport.com/ but have turned a few folks I his
direction and they were quite pleased. I did have occasion to visit with
Suni one afternoon and he certainly appears to be an honest, knowledgeable
and passionate guy.

Fred basically said the same thing. The front right boot was torn
and unfortunately i had to drive home and then to auto parts store so
a total of 80miles with a torn boot. I was worried that CV had been
damaged, but the techs at the shop said when they took the old boots
off they inspected the CV and said the CVs were fine. I think I need
to find a decent shop in the Viriginia, DC, MD area. This shop also
caused me some warped rotors due to improper tightening of my wheel
bolts.
Thanks for confirming exactly what I thought had happened. Hmm I
wonder if blau still has a special new CV joints?<<<<<

Well if Fred says the same thing then I know I am right!
Seriously, unless that 80 miles was in the rain, and the boot was actually
letting in dirt before you noticed, the joint should have been fine - as
long as it was put back together exactly as it came apart.
Blau or GPR might have a whole axle for not much more than a single CV.
I have (8) CV boots in a box that I will be putting on in the next few
weeks. I don't plan on a complete CV rebuild (solvent clean/repack), just
wipe out as much of the old grease as possible, repack with new, then
reboot. Fortunately, my boots are not torn, although, if things progress as
usual, they will tear in the next couple of weeks now that the list has been
infected with the Torn CV Joint Boot affliction.
Good Luck!
