Eric, there are people running stock manifolds, heads and larger turbos to
well over 300 whp.  With the right turbo you will see reduced back pressure
and better performance.  What turbos were these burnt valves happening
with?  RS2?  That's still a pretty small hotside.  Get something like a GT
turbo that flows like mad out the exhaust and I bet you will not have any
problems.
