That is common... I've seen it on a bunch of Audis. I don't think there is any way you can adjust it.

I just took the timing belt cover off in pursuit of a coolant leak and
noticed that the timing belt is not sitting centered on the cam pulley.
It hangs off towards the front of the car maybe a little less than 1/8
of an inch. Is this dangerous? How can I correct this?
