I think that you will find that the vibration problem is not so much
related to the durometer of the rubber compound, but rather to the type
of rubber used in the tire. When I worked for GM as an engineer, the
tires that produced the most problems with flats spotting were those
made with butyl compounds. This is a high damping rate compound that
will cold set and require heat to recover back to its original shape.
