Yep... I "rebuilt" mine with a new bearing when I replaced my engine. Worked great for about 45k miles, and then the bearing sort of worked itself loose inside of the clamshell part of the pulley. It then became noisy... and I just decided to replace it all together.

I paid about $140 for the new one... and got it from Sunset in Oregon. Tim is the guy to talk to... and ask for the Audifans discount. Other suppliers were all $190 - $210.
HTH,
Dave

Subject: [s-cars] Serpent tensioner

Well as luck would have it, my timing belt is in and now my serpent belt
tensioner is making some noise. The bearing seemed fine when I had it out.

I know just the bearing can be replaced but it seems the rotator portion is
sticky. It tends to hang up when rotated to the force against the belt is
not smooth and constant.

Anybody tried to repair the rotator portion?

Who has a good price on a full replacement?

Thanks

Aaron
