> Simply put: $250 for new CPS versus $14 for replacement sender unit... The necessity will come if you current unit fails (as they can do over time) and you need a new one ASAP and you have to fork out gobs of cash on the spot... Then you remember you could have had a spare unit for $14 waiting in the tool box for that faithful moment (insert banging head moment here). Once more CPS = Cam Positioning Sensor (aka Hall Sender), car won't start without it.

> I'we put a 95 S6 steering wheel in a 94 S4, and it is not easy. The difference is the columndiameter of where the electric box containing light and washer/wiper system mounts. The S6 is 4 mm larger in diameter and you have to use the S4 electrical box, the steering column covers and electric sliding ring(follower) from S6. The follower and lower plastic cover have to be redrilled in order to fit the S4 electric box. The tap on the S6 steering wheel that zeroes the turn signal lever have to be cut on the S6 wheel and glued in a new position. I think the 94 and 95 models use the same air bag system, and I had no problem resetting the fault codes on the car with vag- com tool afterwards.

The column covers comes only with holes for tilt and telescope on the S6 or A6 as I recall. The battery has to be disconnected and so has the airbag igniter. Check with Bentley on the airbag procedures.
