Bob,
Worthwhile upgrade for $300... yes. Plug and play...no. There are a couple of options when you go the euro light route. First, you can purchase a plug and play harness, which solves the whole issue. Second, if you are electrically inclined, you can make your own harness. It isn't very difficult, but does require 4 or 5 hours of your time.

The last issue will be the bulb warning system. That either has to be defeated by you, or by an aftermarket relay... or it will alarm unnecessarily.
HTH.

Subject: [s-cars] Euro lights

S-men,
My S4 had a meeting with a little Pontiac thing-a-ma-gig, wrote the Pontiac off,
dented my fender, scratched the bumper and broke the headlight. Insurance will
pay. It appears I might be able to upgrade to Euro headlights for about $300
over the replacement cost of one OEM headlight. How worthwhile is this upgrade?
Is it plug and play? Anything I need to know or be concerned about? Thanks to
the wisdom of the list.
Bob, in Edmonton where the hockey team plays all summer
