If you've got good spark at the plugs, replaced the cps and still
getting
the code, then might you have a sheared key on the crank pulley?
0510? Is that from VAG 1551? The blink code is 2113, I believe.

Ron, gents, etc. Your last line says it all I think...

I'm pretty sure (someone will correct me if I'm wrong here)... if you
ain't seeing a CEL with ignition key simply turned to the 'on' position
(pre cranking), the car ain't seeing the ECU. Fuel, sensors, etc., be
damned, something gives there. I know you swapped ECU's, but.... keep
looking. That's about as deep as my help for you gets unfort. Sounds
as if you have now fiddled with quite a few differing areas,
simultaneous ,splicing, etc. (coils, CPS, etc.). You certainly have a
few areas of troubleshooting potential unfort.

But start with why no CEL and work from there. Others here will help
you in that regard hopefully.

Oh, and Bob, sorry to hear on your fenderbender, least it sounds as if
you're covered. And yes, I'd 100% Euro light it for $300 for a number
of reasons: better headlight lens, better projector lens, city lights,
adjustable "Z" cutoff switch, higher output potential, etc. Me I'd
'find a way' to have it 'worked in' to the repair...

Good luck to you both.

-Paul no thanks to either them issues K.
