[s-cars] Strang Alarm

I need some list wisdom here,

Over the last month or so, the alarm on my 92 S4 has been going off by
itself.  I usually get to work before most others and several times they
come in to tell me that my car alarm is going off.  By the time I go out to
see what is happening, the alarm was not sounding except once.  That time
the alarm was turned off by using the key.  I canot figure out why this
thing is going off intermittently.  About 6 months ago I was having some
trouble with the battery dieing so I snipped the yellow #8? wire and have
not had any battery problems since.


Anyone have any ideas where to begin?
