Huh??? $2500 "to replace the fuel line from the fuel pump to the metal
fuel line"... Is that a dealer quote? Does that include labour or just
the part? Seems excessively high... Is tehre an extra "0" on that
figure...

Subject: [s-cars] Fuel Pressure
Does anyone know the maximum fuel pressure for the 94 Audi S4. Since
the cost to replace the fuel line from the fuel pump to the metal fuel
line is expected to cost over $2500, I would like to put in a field fix
instead. I plan to cut the old rubber line and patch in a new one and
use a brass tube and clamps to patch the two lines together. However, I
need to know the maximum fuel pressure in order to put something
together that will hold up and not get me burned all to hell.
These are great cars, but Audi could have done a much better job
engineering this one just by putting the fuel pump on the bottom of the
fuel tank instead of on top.
