Subject: [s-cars] sunroof no close, engine no start...stumped

I bet this has been a common topic in previous Novembers. Maybe mine
has a twist.

Go out this morning, turn the key, clickclickclickclick. Okay, fine.
Battery's dead. No time to wonder why, no time to say hello goodbye,
I'm late. Jump it off a Miata. Wasn't sure even a running Miata would
start my engine, but it did after a couple of slow initial cranks. Then
I notice that the sunroof's open. Why is the sunroof open? I know I
didn't open it. Maybe the underpant gnomes opened it as they were
licking the terminals of my battery. Twist the knob to the open
position, then back to closed. It makes a not going anywhere sound and
doesn't close. Ugh. Whatever. Is it going to rain today? No. So I
leave and park the car outside with the sunroof open. No big deal.

It sits for 5.5 hours (it sat for 9 last night). Starts right up the
first time the same way it normally does. Sunroof still won't close.

It's not scheduled to rain here until next Thursday, but it's getting
cold and I'm a weenie. Any thoughts? Oh, yeah...and I threw away the
little manual close key thing. You know...weight reduction.

-Cheers!
Mike
