We might be cut from the same cloth PK, nice choice in cars. I had a '72 TR-6, my dad bought it new and I took over stewardship of that rust bucket until about '90, when I could not afford to keep sinking money into it. I think I could have built a house with the amount of cabbage I spent at the Roadster Factory. At least the Audi is galvanized, my beloved TR just rusted to oblivion. I loved that car, but man, what a pain. I still loved that transmission, and the I-6 sounded good even though it was a bit light on the power. I never managed to save up for the 6-pack of Webers before it was gone. That led me to a pair of early RX-7's, those were video games come to life, the joy of oversteer, but a handful in the rain. Then came the iX and currently the S6.
I searched fior a VW Transporter too, but never found one I liked or could afford.
I can't get the other persons Insurance Co to return my calls. This is just like when some bonehead clipped my fender about a year ago in my truck. I have assumed the position.
Haven't had the time to focus on it, but some of the parts are hard to come by, those strut housings were hard to source, there were 4 left in the US when I bought 2. Some current iXer might just get real lucky.
Good news is I'm going to VIR tomorrow thru Sunday, got my new RS2 brackets on, rebuilt steering rack, I think I've plugged my boost leaks so I want be over spinning the turbo and shooting flames out the back like last time. I'll try not to break anything. Got a new remote camera that I hope to get good footage from. These track days are just what the Dr ordered.
Nuts. Looks like car payments are in my future. Paging Mr. Mendel.
