[s-cars] Central locking system issues

I'm having some problems related to my central locking. This is on my
'95.5S6. It all began due to enourmous amounts of water getting into
the
passenger side interior of my car, due to a clogged drain. Luckily I was
able to salvage the ECU, get it all dried out properly and the car runs just
fine now. But I didn't realize for a couple of days that water also got into
the central locking control unit, which is under the rear seat, next to the
battery, buried in a big piece of foam. I did pull it out, and get it dried
out. Now that it is dry, the pump appears to be operating fine. With it
re-installed, I am able to successfully lock all of the doors using the key.
But it will not unlock all of the doors. Only the door with the key in it
will unlock. I have tried pulling the hose off of the pump to verify that
the pump is actually working. I have also applied vacuum and positive
pressure to the hose coming off the pump to see if it will unlock the other
doors, with no such luck. I am able to successfully unlock the other doors
by pulling up the lock knobs. But the most important lock, the gas flap, I
cannot manually unlock. I have also tired the drivers door lock/unlock
button with no luck. Again it does activate the central locking pump, but
the doors don't unlock. I have also verified the the vacuum/hose system
coming off of the pump is not leaking. Is there something that I'm missing
here? Any suggestions as to how to resolve this?
Thanks,
Dave Priebe
