[s-cars] IR Remote.

APS-25CH, because it was cheap and code-hopping. you definitely want
a code-hopping system. i know too many people who have had their cars
broken into without any apparent signs of break-in. people just record
the signals and re-transmit them to open doors. happened to my wife's
friend several times before i told her to deactivate the factory keyless
entry system on her acura.

any alarm system should do the job. there's no magic to this, and they
all have to work with the same cars. you've obviously already found the
instructions for wiring the system. they work well, except that the
relay is a clunky way to simulate the operation of a diode. i used a
diode instead - much smaller, cheaper, and easier to connect (i just wired
it inline). FYI, the alarm system i used does flip-flop the voltages, so
it's a good idea to make sure to use the diode. the factory system can
probably handle it, but why find out? the diode was 69 cents at radio shack.

how are you searching the archives, anyway? download everything and
use MS Word to search?
