[s-cars] Me too

Gents,

Since others have confessed recently, I may as well add my name to the
list: I sold my S-car.

I was truely a super car, and for sure the best car I have ever owned, but I
found that I rarely drove it. Between a short commute that did not allow
the turbo to come up to temp and a stable of other fun cars, it seemed the S
car just sat. The decision to sell came in October, when I pulled the car
out of the garage to wash it for a local get-together only to find it still
clean (and virtually undriven) since S Fest in August.

The S-car is THE car to have if you can have only one car. You can dust the
Camero at the light, take the boss to lunch, blast through the twisties, and
load kids and groceries in the back. But if you can have more than one car,
you find that the Miata is faster in the twisties, the Suburban holds more
stuff, the Coupe is a good commuter, and knowing that you only have a few
thousand in your winter beater can be very liberating when playing in the
snow. Granted, there is something very special about an S-car, which is why
it took me so long to part with it.

So anyway, the S has not gone to a pimply faced teenager for installation of
22's and huge wing. The new owner is lurker here, a mature adult who waited
for the right car. If his phone call on the way home from work on his first
night in the S is any indication, he found the right car. I hope the car
brings him the same joy, pride of ownership, and goose bumps that it brought
me. I'm sure he'll pop up here eventually, and I'll still be around, so
really the list wins in the end.

Its been fun.

Tom
