It's rather obvious what you are up to Ian... So here's the S-Fest 2006
photo of the "Smart Car = Cyclops Ecce Homo".

I see no reason to call Pizzo such names, he really is a nice guy in
person! Shame on you... ;-)

So here's on aff-topic post...my brother-in-law in Baltimore got a new
Smart fortwo as a mobile marketing canvas for his company. Pre- import,
"provisional VIN", whatever that is. Pretty cool, REALLY small. Like you
can park two nose to tail in the space my S6 Avant takes. Pretty good
bit of kit, except the automagic transition. Lots of hunting, and takes
about two Super Bowl commercials to shift.
Handles well, pretty good acceleration for something you can carry in
your backpack, lots of space given you must put it on rather than get
into it. Not only that, but it's REAR WHEEL DRIVE. Don't they have laws
against that these days?

So, this brings me to my next virgin moment, I discovered a gap in the
omniscience of the Internet, a first for me. I've always been able to
find at least _something_ relating to my quest, but not this time. No
pictures. Nothing. Nada.

For you geezers in the bunch, from back when we had to get our vicarious
thrills from actual printed magazines, no animation, no hyperlinks,
actual print on paper, there was an infrequent comic in that paragon of
automotive authority, Rod & Truck, about this little car, that reminded
me of the Smart I drove. The little car was as (if not perhaps more)
funny looking than the Smart, and was called the Cyclops Ecce Homo. Yep,
that's for real. Made out of recycled Cinzano signs, active suspension,
one honking headlight prolly brighter than those HID upgrades we've been
discussing of late. Sort of the iPod of Minis. Functional, plus easy on
the eyes.

Now here's the bummer. Neither Google nor Yahoo can find anything online
to show it, for me to email to my BIL. I was born at night, but not last
night. However, in this case, I'm as clueless as a Luddite CIO.

Does anyone out there know about this comic car, and know where it might
be found online? Anyone?
