mark,

i never had to deal with that problem because i have an impact wrench.
actually, i have an electric impact wrench and an air impact wrench.
if you don't own one, i highly recommend getting one.  well worth the
money.  mine are craftsman (electric) and ingersoll-rand (air), but
you can get no-name impact wrenches cheap these days.
