I recommend starting at the beginning, Rob.
Does the MIL (check engine light) come on with the engine running?
Have you checked for codes stored in the ECU? Use VAG-COM or
<http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/> troubleshooting.
Many problems will not cause codes, but this is the place to start.
Then,
if required, unplug injectors one at a time to try to isolate the
miss to one
cylinder, or not.
I think Stabilant is a 3M product, dealer or electronics shop. A good
alternative is Caig Laboratories DeOxit and Gold cleaners and
protection. Available online or at Radio Shack. <http://
store.caig.com/>
I think the bottles with brush applicator work best for contacts with no
waste like sprays have. The little 100ml tubes are about a years
supply.
The wiping action of making and breaking the contacts in the connector
should remove enough oxidation to make a good contact. The cleaner
is best for long term insurance.
