[s-cars] Looking for an engine.

A guy in my office has a 1992 S4. He recently blew the motor (don't know all the details) and needs and new(used but good) engine. He is not much of an enthusiast yet. Just likes the car and would like to see it fixed. Think he is on a bit of a budget. 

So here are the questions. 

- Anyone have one lying around?

-Best place to look?

-Other compatible models that he can get a block and head from?
