[s-cars] Pulled over for Tinting!?!?

So, we have some visitors that arrived here in northern CA last night,
and on the way home (about 11:30pm), a cop pulls me over. I hadn't
done anything, and I asked him what the problem was. He said that I
have tinting on my windows, and it is illegal. He wrote me a ticket to
appear at court within 30 days and prove the window no longer has tint
or else I have to pay a fine and points!?!?!

Homes are being burgled, and this is what he is doing at 11:30pm?  My
tint is not even very dark. When I arrived in CA a couple of months
ago, I had to have the car inspecting by the DMV to make sure it
complied in many areas, and they passed it without a problem.

So, people in CA, what is the best way to approach this? Just pay the
fine and move on? What is the fine? The ticket doesn't seem to state
what the fine is.

Ugh, it really, really pisses me off.
