[s-cars] Sunroof help

There are some sunroof tips in the audifans knowledge base, but I
don't think
they will help you much. IIRC, the Ji39 module is behind the drivers
side kick
panel. Panel removal is in the Bentley.

If you are removing the sunroof control panel cover, it pulls down
gently and
evenly from the front. The clips in the back are fixed and will
break if the cover
is pulled down from the rear.

Try opening the roof just a little and give it a gentle help with one
hand when
opening or closing. If the controller senses an obstruction by too
much current
draw, it will reverse. When you can get it open a little, or fully
open, clean the
tracks with a lint free cloth and a little silicone spray--no oil or
grease. The tracks
and mechanism tend to collect dirt and just a little will bind enough
to cause trouble.

I think your instruction diagram shows to pull out the red plastic
piece surrounding the
handle engagement slot. If you resort to using this for the close
cycle only, don't pull
it all the way out, then you can easily push it back in to re-engage
the motor.

The A6 uses the same sunroof and controls, so used parts are
plentiful, if needed.
Many of the failures seem to occur with a low voltage battery episode.
