Which model number did you end up using? How did you mount the Odyssey battery? Where you able to use the hold down strap or did you fab up some alternate clamping mechanism?

I looked into this briefly a while ago but a local battery outlet said that the odyssey did not have that little lip detail that the euro batterires use to use the factory tie downs.

I bought an Odyssey gel cell battery because it fit where the Optima did
not.  However, it was way too expensive, and I probably should have just
stuck with a regular battery.  ( It's the Humvee battery, guaranteed  
to survive
the desert.)
