you could always retrofit an aftermarket alarm system and use its
remotes to control your factory alarm.  that's what many of us with
IR alarm systems have done, and it's pretty non-invasive.  the only
modification i made to my car was cutting a few wires to splice in the
leads for the aftermarket alarm.
