I don't have anything to contribute to if you should or shoukdn't get an 
Optima, but I do have a usefull tidbit if you do get one. You do NOT want a 
red top. You need an orange top. The orange is same as red, except the posts 
are reversed so the stock cables will reach. On a red top the + post is 
where the Audi ground wire would reach, so you would have to lengthen the 
cables to fit the battery.
