[s-cars] Sirius/XM box mounting ideas

Hi all,

I've taken the plunge and purchased a Sirius satellite setup. Now I am
looking for mounting ideas.

The box I bought is the "Sportster Replay" but I am seriously (no pun
intended, but hey I am going with it anyway) thinking about exchanging
it for the thinner "Sportster 4." I did a bit of test-fitting of the box
I have now and it didn't seem to fit anyplace very well.. The best spot
looked like in front of the shifter, which is out of the way except for
blocking the ashtray/change compartment and the space below it. The box
is way too big to suction-cup to the windshield even though that's one
of the Sirius-recommended locations. It is important to me that the
buttons and display are visible to me, so places like inside the glove
box aren't what I am looking for.

I am certain that some in this group have done the sat radio thing and
have come up with some clever ideas for mounting that aren't apparent to
me at the moment. If you've got satellite radio, where did you put the
box, antenna and so on? If you have a really cool setup, I'd love to see
a photo.

FYI my plan is to connect the box directly into the stereo using the
relay/CD changer method, hide all the antenna/power wires, etc.

Thanks for any input,

Marc, dumping commercial radio in Detroit
