here are some good links for the timing belt procedure:

tools can be rented from force 5. you may want to be prepared with
a new timing pulley. mine had a hairline crack near the woodruff key,
which almost caused me to stop the whole job until i got a new one.
however, i decided to use it after realizing that the key is only used
to index the pulley properly and it's the clamping force of the crank bolt
that keeps it from moving. make sure to clean all mating surfaces really
well. i used brake cleaner and a scotchbrite pad.

by the way, you may find that after you remove the crankshaft bolt, the
balancer won't come off easily. don't make the same mistake i did and
conclude that the 4 allen bolts have to come out. they don't. access
is tight, and they strip easily. don't ask me how i know.

i didn't replace the crankshaft bolt, but if i had to do it again, i would.
i did replace the CPS, which i got through a group purchase last year, and
was glad i did because the old one was bathed in oil and the wires seemed
a bit iffy where they go into the sensor.

BTW, my old timing belt looked terrific after 97k miles. no cracks at all,
and looked like it could go another 50k. the serpentine belt, on the
other hand, had a lot of cracks and definitely needed replacing.
