It can take a while for the high current at the switch to do its damage. 
If you are running higher than stock wattage on the bulbs, the switch 
will eventually burn out. You will also burn the reflectors inside the 
lamp assembly. Consider going to an after market HID set up for the low 
beams and Tosheba 9011 bulbs for the high beam.
