I understand that the awd systems in both PSK and PDK are identical (and
actually audi derived), and that the differences are in the actual transmission
(specifically: Clutch) application. Specifically, the PSK was a traditional
6speed transmission with clutch, and the PDK was the clutchless 6 speed.
Yes (audi content) the PDK was used in a couple S1 cars, though only the Pikes
Peak car actually raced and won with it, the rest were test fitments IIRC.
Getting more nerdy, the 84 911 Carrera 4x4 (959 prototype) was referred to as
a 963, and all 3 years of P-D 959 used PSK traditional 6speeds, 1985 and
1986 used the variable torque split version.
I understand the PDK was used in the 962 race (tarmac car) first, and also
used in a couple S1 Evo II's. Technically speaking Rob, all SQ's were FIA
homoged as S1's. The bewinged S1 Evo II usually sported the SMS 6speed rally
trans, but a couple chassis were tested with the PDK.

to jump in and clarify- wait for the audi content..... i believe the trans
in the 911/ 959 racer and later the type 964 lightweight was the " Paris/
Dakar " adjustable torque split trans- not to be confused with the PDK (
Porsche double clutch) used in the 956 group C car, and adapted to the
monster 1985 Sport Quattro E2. see there is real audi content. -rob
