[s-cars] "The Aluminum Crowd" / Current UrS prices

Yep... cheap thrills. I bought mine from a fellow CO Audi geek... a well maintained sport equipped A4 1.8tq. I threw on a Koni coilover kit and some 18x8's. It already was chipped. It isn't boring in the power department, but after numerous years with the pumped up UrS as the daily driver, it leaves you wanting more.

Ha! I'm driving a '04 Jetta 1.8t (one of 2 years they put the 180 bhp fwd TT motor in). Lotsa sub 3,000 pound fun with a Dahlback stage I chip (215 hp/250 lb-ft), 17*8 wheels and rubber and some H&R Sports heh heh. F-A-S-T!!! And still under warranty!!!

True... I just don't like maintenance processes that begin with " 1) Remove engine. "

Actually, I've found myself greatly entertained by my latest ride... a little ole B5 A4 1.8t. A rather small car, but very fun nonetheless. It's just a little short on poop... but that can be fixed.

And why do I get "d9d" everytime I try an follow one of those audiworld links?

You know... the S8 is a flat out fabulous looking car. But I just can't
make the leap. How does one go from an UrS to an S8 without suffering
at least some pain? It has a slushbox... and it DOESN'T have the all
important hairdryer.
I'm not 20 anymore, but I still can't imagine driving an automatic. If
there were a reasonable way to convert it to a 6 speed... I might
consider. As is, I just can't do it yet.

Random ramblings....

Dave (in Ar-Kansas)
