[s-cars] Mmmm, shifty business...

I guess I'm with Taka on this.

I've driven a lot of cars - big, small, auto, manual, and I just don't
like manual anything.

Lawnmowers, grain trucks with no synchros - I like manuals.

It could be that the S8 would be so great that I'd drool all over
myself and never notice. But I doubt it. I've driven Tip-trannied
Porsche, and hated it. The 996 is great, but the tranny ruined it for
me. I had more fun driving my crappy Scirocco.

There's something about being able to control the transmission of a
car *at all points*, with no wonders at any time if the car's brain is
gonna select the gear that's in *my* brain.

It's part of the fun of driving a good car, IMO. To be crude, I'd
liken driving the S8 to having sex using a condom. Yeah, it's good,
but it could be *better*.

Sorry to everyone else for having to take it down to a level where
Paulie K. would understand it. [runs and hides]

Eric "shifty fella, and likes it that way"
