The R has the ground effects option, that puts two wings on the lower
valence that is known to scrape with very low clearance. They can be removed with
4 fasteners on each side. I just saw a set of these add on's this morning,
as the volvo shop I visited today just removed them from one of the S60R
because he couldn't get out of his driveway without scraping them. The car looks
fine without them on the front, and adds another 4in of front end clearance.
I agree that the R I5 sounds just like a stromung. I'm telling you, those
volvo boys have been lurking here!

Is your friend's car bodykitted? My stock V70R has no problems scraping
unless you have a big dip and I go way too fast into the dip. The "rubbing"
you're talking about are the steering limiters- they're there to help
prevent actual rubbing. They're removable if you don't mind risking rubbing.
Engine sounds like an Audi I-5, same warble, I'm confused. Sounds just like
an Audi when paired with a manual trans and aftermarket exhaust- I came
across a modded S60R while driving the V70R- when he stomped on it, sounded
like an S-car with Stromung.
