Thanks, Steve.
I wanted to get the perspective of a few different software suppliers,
just for my own education, and so that I don't buy stuff that won't
work, or that will only work with a lot of tweaking.
One of the reasons I decided to step up to RS2 is because it seems
like that is about the stock limit of the AAN before you have to start
reworking the bottom end. That, and the bolt-on nature of the stuff.
On top of all of that, it's a proven solution that very robust, like
you say, AND the software exists off-the-shelf to make it work
properly in a Motronic environment.
I am a fan of journal-bearing turbos, precisely because they are so
robust. That's why I had merely considered the GT2871, and wasn't
really pining after it. The idea of full boost by 2400 rpm is
interesting, but I'm a "drive around without boost" kind of guy - I
can drive all day long without ever exceeding 14.7psia MAP. RS2 is
nice, because then, I can get around a little faster without getting
into boost, since the boost doesn't come on until about 3-3.2k RPM.
But then, if and when I want it, I can throw all kinds of HP around
for fun and profit. :)
I appreciate your insights,
Eric
