Having just gone through the "bomb" replacement on my 93 s4, I can say that
that is a definite possibility, floyd. Pay attention to the brake pedal
feel. Hard pedal means it's more likely the bomb. Knowledge base has a lot
of good info. Bomb is under front driver side up by the bumper. I drove my
s for a year without any significant bomb assist, and it worked fine, but
those panic stops are sure a lot easier now.
