[s-cars] spark plugs

BTDT. There are special inserts for spark plugs that insure that they
properly seat in the head and do not back out. The repair can usually be
made without removal of the head, but requires care by a knowledgeable
wrench to insure no chips make their way into the engine. I had such a
repair made and it held until I replaced the engine 18 months later for an
unrelated issue. It is highly recommended that the check the spark plug
torque with every oil change. Do not back the plugs off and re-torque
however. Just add torque to 22 ft-lb (IIRC).

The threads in the head are probably stripped. There is a way to fix
this with a steel Helicoil insert that requires drilling and tapping the
hole to a new size then inserting the Helicoil. You will likely have to
remove the head to do this work, but I'm not sure.
