[s-cars] 600 miles on one tank of gas!

okay,
i have no pictures at this time since i broke my digi and my cell cam isnt
clear enough.
currently the fuel cell itself is mounted just above the oil cooler powered
through a relay mounted in that little nook near where the passenger side of
the strut brace mounts, wired to a switch, ammeter, power of course and the
cell. the cell has one gas line out that goes to the drier (made by me out
of pvc pipe, a couple elbows and caucasian engineering) the line goes to the
lower port of that canister and out of the top is another line that i made a
pretzel knot in and then tapped into the cuff in between the DBR intake and
MAFS.
it actually fits quite nice and isnt noticable unless you really poke your
head in.
i dont like that it is tapped in where it is because of what the gas has to
travel through/by/near etc.. but for exactly what dave mentions is what
makes that optimum in my eyes. any suggestions are welcome. putting it
after the IC would make other pressures pos/neg give reactions ranging from
false air to pressurizing the cell.
what else,, engine management,, after many stops of varying distances, i
found that between 30&50 miles the ECU didnt like what it was reading and
then proceeds to dump fuel to save itself.
i got the cell for free and had no o2ptimizer at the time to wire in, so i
figured i could just route my vag adapter&serial cable into my cabin and
clear the codes as i went.
Ewe must have realized thats a bad idea and not let the software to such a
thing. so i just pulled over..
shame on me, i got carried away for one stretch and didnt clear codes for
over 100 miles.. cruising along and then went to accelerate and stumbled
hard. got spooked pulled over, checked fluids, did smell tests and finally
concluded my cat was probably loaded with fuel. so i took a rest played
stick with my liebe(thats my dog you pervs) and then when i got back on my
way and with the cell switched off i floored it and sure enough a few
hickups and spray in the rearview, i had power again. also i should note
that i didnt boost much over 15lbs with the cell on and did notice UNsmooth
acceleration after 20lbs. i question how much Mo(tronic) payed attention or
even saw the difference in readings at that point.
there are other adventures i could get really elaborite on like mixing
potassium hydroxide(lye/caustic) w/distilled water in the cell at various
altitudes and temps, and all the strange looks i got playing with water
displacement bottles under my hood while wearing gloves and holding
measuring spoons around the same time im mixing cans of acetone, xylene,
covalizer into a beer bottle and then into my gas tank(I eventulally scored
a long neck funnel but the lager bottle still works best)
im leaving out more im sure but thats a start. im not pushing this on
un-naturally aspirated motors, but on nat-as cars its done great time&time
again. i personally had the time and was given the resources so i figured i
would try. im only the second person/car i know of that adapted this to a
turbo motor and have much to learn.
